Tyler Bruening Captures Blue Ribbon Classic at Cresco Speedway

World 100 Weekend at Eldora Speedway Awaits

DECORAH, Iowa (09/02/25) – Tyler Bruening kicked off his Labor Day weekend on a high note, powering his Skyline Motorsports / Bruening Rock Products No. 16 Longhorn Chassis Late Model to a victory just 30 minutes from his hometown.

The $5,000 win—his second of the season and fifth career triumph with the Malvern Bank West Series—came Thursday night at Cresco Speedway and follows his early season victory in January with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Golden Isles Speedway.

“From all the years I’ve been racing, all over the country, this is only the second time I’ve gotten to race this close to home. I think the first time here was 2022 and we run second, so it’s super awesome,” Bruening said. “I could point out and pick out my fans and my people in the stands, that was really cool. We had a tough start there, I thought maybe my left-front wheel was a little bent, but just kinda found the top early before Dylan (Thornton) got up there.”

Bruening opened the stretch Thursday night at Cresco as the Malvern Bank West and East Series collided for the Blue Ribbon Classic. After a heat race win locked him into the feature, Bruening held off a hard-charging Dallon Murty in the final laps to secure the 40-lap victory.

The weekend continued for Bruening on Saturday at Minnesota’s Deer Creek Speedway, but his bid to qualify for the $7,000-to-win finale fell one spot short with a third-place finish in his B-Main.

Bruening and the Skyline Motorsports team are set to take on one of the sport’s crown jewel events this weekend—the prestigious World 100 at the legendary Eldora Speedway. The three-day showcase kicks off Thursday with the first of two $12,000-to-win preliminary features, leading into Saturday’s $72,000-to-win main event.
