Ninth-place outing in Don & Billie Gibson Tribute at Lucas Oil Speedway
Tyler Bruening unloaded his Olson Explosives No. 16 machine at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Thursday afternoon as the Skyline Motorsports team kicked off the 33rd-annual Show-Me 100 weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
With just under 50 Late Models on hand, Bruening qualified third-fastest in his group and picked up a heat race win. Tyler was running inside the Top-5 during the $10,000 opener when he clipped the infield tractor tire which forced him to pull off early. He was scored 23rd in the final rundown.
Tyler was able to find some better luck on Friday evening as he started from the fourth-row in the Tribute to Don & Billie Ginson and recorded a Top-10 outing in ninth.
Locked into the 100-lap main event on Saturday evening, Bruening recorded a 24th-place finish in the $75,000-to-win show.
