Strong showing with Lucas Oil during Spring Shootout at Fairbury Speedway

Catching the tail end of Illinois Speedweek, Tyler Bruening invaded Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway on Friday night to join the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for their doubleheader weekend through the Land of Lincoln.

Falling backwards in his heat race, Bruening was unable to crack into the A-Main for the 74-lap, $25,000-to-win Farmer City 74.

Showing much more speed on Saturday evening, Bruening was one of 45 Super Late Model entries at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway for the Spring Shootout.

Setting quicktime in his group, Tyler fell back two spots in his heat race but rebounded in the $30,000-to-win feature and raced to a Top-5 finish in fourth. He trailed Jonathan Davenport, Brandon Sheppard, and Bobby Pierce while Shannon Babb completed the Top-5.
